The spacious tents are fitted with wooden floors, and feature double or twin beds with soft duvets and linen sheets. Each room also contains a writing desk, chest of drawers and protective mosquito netting. For your comfort, fans are provided to keep the climate comfortable. Each of the bedrooms leads to an en-suite bathroom, complete with a flush loo, basin and indoor shower with both hot and cold running water. Sit back on a comfortable deck chair on your private verandah and enjoy a comfortable stay amongst the stunning wildlife.

The family tents consist of two bedrooms that lead off from either side of the tent’s lounge area. The master bedroom features a large double bed, and the second bedroom is furnished with two twin beds. This tent is ideal for a family or group of friends embarking on a safari holiday together. As with the luxury tents, the family tent includes a writing desk, chest of drawers and protective mosquito netting in each room. For your comfort, fans are also provided to keep the climate comfortable. Additionally, the family tent features a spacious en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath, flush loo, basin and indoor shower. The open nature of the family tent allows for constant mesmerising panoramic views without having to leave the comfort of the camp.

Enjoy a filling continental breakfast buffet before venturing out on a game drive, and returning to a delicious light lunch. Later on, afternoon tea is available and comes with a selection of sweet and savoury treats. Dinner is served in the evenings and followed up with a delectable dessert. A couple of evenings each week, guests can look forward to mouth-watering traditional meals or barbecues cooked at the camp’s boma. Sit with your fellow guests in the camp’s dining tent and marvel at the astonishing view of the marshland and its incredible inhabitants.

Drive up to Chobe’s famous large herds of elephants in a specially designed safari vehicle and get a sense of their sheer size from up close. Weave around herds of buffalo and antelope, and learn all about these extraordinary creatures from Linyanti Ebony’s knowledgeable guides. The 4×4 safari vehicles are open-sided, allowing for amazing photographic opportunities.

Due to the camp’s position on a private reserve, guests are able to venture out on night drives. Night-time game drives offer the unique chance to find some of the reserve’s nocturnal creatures which you would be unable to find at any other time. The darkness adds an extra immersive element to this experience as you search for adorable bushbabies, African wildcats and honey badgers among the sweeping landscape.

The Linyanti Marshlands feature varied environments, both wet and dry, which provides a brilliant location for bird watching. The reserve has amazing bird viewing opportunities, with hundreds of species to see, including African Skimmers, Half-Collared Kingfishers and the elusive Pel’s Fishing Owl. Different birds may be available to spot depending on the season. For example, the green season brings in large numbers of the stunning and colourful Carmine Bee-Eaters as they migrate for the season.

Embark on a walking safari across the Linyanti Marshlands and explore the diverse landscape with an experienced and passionate walking guide. Venture to the places that safari vehicles cannot reach and watch the game without the startling sounds of an engine. This activity is most enjoyable during the dry season when the dipping water levels pull back to reveal more land. The professional armed guides will be able to teach you about the incredible animals that live on the reserve, and how to find them. Due to safety reasons, walking safaris are only available for guests aged 16 and over.

Float along the waterways in a dug-out canoe and watch the wildlife from a unique perspective. Mokoros were once the only form of transportation available to bushmen and would have been fashioned from hardwood tree trunks. Linyanti Ebony’s mokoros are now made from fibreglass to help preserve Botswana’s hardwood forests. Learn about the river and its water-dwellers from your professional guide while hippos swim alongside you and elephants drink from the riverbanks. Due to the fluctuating levels of the water, Mokoro Safaris are not always available and guests must be 16 years or over to participate.

For guests staying 3 nights or more at Linyanti Ebony, a thrilling half-hour helicopter flight over the vast marshlands is included in your stay. This activity is seasonal and is only available between April and November. Gaze upon the beautiful landscape and its varied environments such as wet marshlands, open plains and dry woodlands. Watch herds of elephants from a birds-eye perspective, before landing in the marshlands for a delicious picnic.

The African Bush Camps Foundation has established a number of projects that aim to improve education, empowerment and conservation efforts within the local communities where they operate. They work with members of the community in order to improve school facilities, provide educational textbooks and supplies for students, and supporting a local health centre, as well as encouraging these communities to form a peaceful relationship with the local wildlife, and finding ways to resolve human and animal conflict. African Bush Camps contribute $10 USD towards the Foundation’s running costs for every night that a single guest stays at one of their camps.

Pack for a Purpose is an initiative that encourages travellers to benefit local communities by using spare suitcase space to bring much-needed supplies for their Conservation Education Program and Women’s Craft Groups. Supplies can be dropped off at your accommodation and will be used to aid a local project, such as craft groups, where local woman are taught skills that allow them to make traditional and non-traditional items such as traditional basketwork, hand-sewn and embroidered products and hand-beaded glass and food nets. These items can then be sold to provide incomes, start small businesses and even support the construction of homes.

The African Bush Foundation runs a ‘Greener Camps’ programme which means that ‘African Bush Camps Safari Properties are committed to operating in a sustainable manner, ensuring that we preserve the environment, culture and conservation of Africa. Where possible we use solar power, low energy lighting systems, wastewater treatment, greywater recycling, and single-use plastic reduction initiatives.’ This means that the impact on the environment caused by African Bush Camps is kept to a minimum.

The biggest threat to African lions is conflict with humans. Livestock is vital for many people’s livelihoods, and if lions attempt to attack livestock, it can have devastating effects for both the owners and the lions themselves if people were to retaliate. Because of this, the Lion Guardian teams are trained to empower and educate local communities about living in harmony with wildlife. By providing an income for the local members of the community that become Lion Guardians, the African Bush Camps Foundation is able to support the guardians and their families as well as protect lions and livestock.
