Location

Imbabala is located 80 kilometers west of Victoria Falls, access is via transfer from Victoria Falls, Livingstone or Kasane. The 5,000 acre concession has 14 kilometres of private Zambezi river frontage and borders the Chobe Forest Reserve, which is renowned for its massive Elephant population.

Accommodation

Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge offers exclusive accommodation for only 20 guests in 9 individual thatch lodges with en-suite facilities. The first room type is the Family Room with 2 inter-leading bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms, 1 with a double bed and 1 with 2 twin beds. Fan, tea and coffee facilities, safe, and hair dryer. The second is Safari Chalet, a uniquely decorated and beautifully positioned room with spacious verandas opening onto sweeping views of the Zambezi River.

Activities

Exploring the Zambezi River by boat affords guests an exclusive river experience. Game drives in the private concession area are popular and often provide fantastic game sightings including lion, painted dog, elephant, giraffe and kudu. The area has approximately 420 bird species sighted making it an exciting venue for watching and photographing Africa’s finest birds. Walking Safaris and fishing excursions for the renowned Tiger Fish, are available by prior arrangement. On the grounds amidst the Lodges lies a Spa treatment service where trained professionals will soothe the mind, body and soul through varying, tailor-made treatments.

Sustainability

The array of Safari Lodges take social responsibility, preservation and sustainability very seriously through uplifting the local communities, being part of large initiatives to support the Victoria falls region and including themselves in projects to rehabilitate injured or orphaned wildlife.

Eco Friendly Practises

The water heating systems are either solar or currently in the process of being converted to solar. As the Lodge is part of Wild Horizons, they are in joint effort to rehabilitate areas that were once stripped clear of trees by uncontrolled firewood and wood carving collection.
