Hotel San Juan Ometepe is set inside the Finca San Juan, a tropical fruit tree plantation surrounded by precious wood trees and rare wildlife. The location is perfect to enthrall yourself in the culture, activities and wildlife of the island.

Rooms and Facilities

The understated, century-old Spanish colonial hacienda house has been faithfully restored and serves visitors as the lodge’s restaurant. Lodging is exclusive, limited to four colonial rooms near the Casa Hacienda, four rooms with a shared porch in front of a beautiful water pond, where you can see different kinds of birds and other animals, three independent cabins near the restaurant and Casa Hacienda. And the superior accomodation of the lodge, eight front-lake bungalows.

The hotel also offers a restaurant and a bar. Los Naranjos Restaurant, with lake breezes and sweeping views from every table, the restaurant offers a more intimate dining setting steeped in tradition. All feature handmade Nicaraguan precious wood furniture and great views and ambience. The rustic Jicaro Bar is a good way to mix lake breezes with the world’s finest rum, Nicaragua’s renowned Flor de Caña in a variety of drinks, including the unique Macuá made with local passion fruit. There is also an international beers menu.

Activities and Experiences

The lodge’s beach-front location is the ideal base for kayaking and swimming in Nicaragua’s lake, clean, warm waters, hiking inside its private nature reserve, mountain biking, horseback riding and of course volcano climbing.

San Juan de la Isla also gives back to the community, with its own educational project for island children that helps preserve island culture against the pressures of international tourism, while simultaneously opening the door for employment opportunities from the tourism economy with free English language instruction.
