Chongwe River Camp

Surrounded by pristine wildlife is Chongwe River Camp. Sat on the edge of both the Zambezi River and Chongwe River the camp is authentic and luxurious, exuding a sense of peace and exclusivity with only 9 safari tents. The tents are comfortable and spacious, filled with bright natural light and with unparalleled river views of the sparkling Chongwe. Enjoy freshly prepared and local food in the bush, and an authentic sundowner experience around the crackling fire pit. Guests can explore the surroundings on an exciting game drive or boat safari, or a gentle canoe down the calm water of the river. Chongwe River Suites

Indulge in luxury and seclusion while immersing yourself in the wildest of settings! Wake up to birdsong as the sun rises over the Zambezi River, reflecting the colours all around you. Playful vervet monkeys will scamper through the canopy above as you watch a herd of elephants feed on the seed pods dropped from a nearby tree. Named for local, indigenous plants that grow in the area, the Cassia and Albida Suites are tucked under ancient towering trees at the convergence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers. The one-bedroom Cassia Suite is a private suite for two, perfect for honeymooners and couples, while the two-bedroom, two-bathroom Albida Suite sleeps four guests and is great for families or friends travelling together.

Chongwe River House

Chongwe River House represents award-winning safari design at its absolute finest. This charming, two storey, four bedroom private house is set on a serene stretch of the Chongwe River against a magnificent mountainous backdrop. The Chongwe area is well-know for its population of elephants which will frequently wander through the camp in search of seed pods from the winterthorn trees. Chongwe River House mixes smoothly into the tranquil river setting. The flowing curves and bends of the house become open living spaces that accentuate the surrounding wilderness. Waterfall showers, private open air bathtubs, furniture carved from a winterthorn tree and ceilings studded with river pebbles all combine to complete the inspired design. Flatdogs Camp

Flatdogs camp offers a blend of unique accommodations beside the South Luangwa National Park. From an opulent two bed-roomed tented house with private pool, to the wilder Jackalberry Treehouse built on platforms around four live Ebony trees, over-looking a game rich waterhole. The Chalet Suites are perfect for families and the Luxury Tents are spread out along the riverbank – offering the “Africa under canvas” experience – with elephant browsing around them and hippo grazing just outside. Even the Standard Safari Tents will spoil you with full en-suite facilities and panoramic landscapes. The South Luangwa National Park is one of the last great wildlife wonders of the world, covering 3,475 square miles of pristine wilderness in Zambia‘s Eastern Province. The South Luangwa has been visited by wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world since its creation as a National Park in 1972, it offers a safari experience unmatched by any others.

Kafunta River Lodge

Kafunta River Lodge is a classic Zambian safari lodge, combining all the essentials for a great safari, located on the floodplains of the Luangwa River, away from the busier area near the park’s Mfuwe gate. During the peak season the lodge accesses the national park via its own pontoon. The lodge was fully renovated in 2019 and offers a relaxed atmosphere with great attention to detail. Made up of just ten charming chalets, the lodge also boasts a spacious bar and dining area at the heart of the retreat – where delicious cuisine is utterly enjoyed. Built around a semi-evergreen wild mango tree, the chalets and main lodge are thatched in the traditional style, all offering superb panoramic views over the Luangwa River and the South Luangwa National Park. Kaingo Camp

Overlooking the Luangwa River deep within the prime area of the South Luangwa National Park, Kaingo Camp offers endless beauty renowned for game viewing, providing guests with a safari journey they’ll never forget. Everything at Kaingo has been handpicked by the Shenton family, from the camps stylish design and practical layout to the choice of scrumptious, local produce grown on the Shenton Plot. The opulent, open-sided sitting room at the heart of the camp includes a dining area, library and Kaingo’s renowned thousand-year-old lead-wood bar. Each chalet boasts a stunning outdoor bathtub with cool, shady views of the spectacular vistas. Three Rivers Camp

Three Rivers Camp is solar powered camp that gracefully resides under a canopy of mature sausage trees. The luxury tents face open plains around either the impressive Luangwa River or spectacular game-rich lagoons. The area is teeming with wildlife including big herds of elephant and buffalo, giraffe, antelope, wild dog and much more. Gorges Camp and Little Gorges lie at the edge of the Batoka Gorge, just a 30-minute drive from Victoria Falls town. Here, guests can enjoy a relaxing stay, surrounded by the ground’s beautiful landscaped garden and the exquisite views of the Batoka Gorge which can be admired from your private verandah, or from the cooling waters of the swimming pool. The two camps are positioned side-by-side, overlooking the rushing waters of the Zambezi River as it makes its way to the basaltic plateau of Victoria Falls. Gorges Camp and Little Gorges enjoy a tranquil atmosphere away from the vibrant Victoria Falls town, meaning that guests can enjoy a soothing and secluded environment with stunning views, but the town is still easy to access for exciting activities such as white water rafting and tours of the local area. Gorges Camp offers a luxurious experience, where guests can stay in a comfortable thatched chalet with private balconies, whereas Little Gorge gives guests a more authentic bush camping experience where you can get close to nature and witness the thrills of safari up close.

Masuwe Lodge

Masuwe Lodge is located just 7 kms from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, it overlooks the Masuwe River and is surrounded by 1000 hectares (almost 2500 acres) of private wildlife sanctuary. The lodge offers accommodation in nine Wilderness Tents and one romantic Hide-Away. Each is constructed of canvas, thatch and stone and has a private en-suite bathroom and a private outdoor deck with views of wilderness and wildlife. There is also a Family Nest, built in the style of a farm homestead offering two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an outdoor living area with braai (BBQ) and private plunge pool.
