Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia was established in 1998 by the wild initiative of an hidalgo man named Juan Quesada Valda. A pioneer in the salt hotels worldwide, Juan’s innovative and creative idea of building a hotel 100% made of salt (walls, ceilings, tables, chairs and others) was materialized in what he called Palacio de Sal. With a unique and sui generis architecture, its objective was to provide to the visitors of the salt flats a place to find a balance with nature and enjoy a pleasant and unforgettable rest.
