Desert Rhino Camp

Desert Rhino Camp offers an original, exclusive wilderness experience and the possibility of seeing some of the largest free-ranging population of desert-adapted black rhino in Africa. The desert plains – transformed overnight by summer rains – are starkly scenic, and home to other unique species, from Hartmann’s zebra and giraffe, to the bizarre welwitschia plant.
The camp consists of eight comfortable Meru-style tents with en-suite bathrooms, and shady main area with refreshing plunge pool. Run in conjunction with Save the Rhino Trust, Desert Rhino Camp offers rhino tracking by vehicle and on foot with experts from this conservation NGO.

Kanaan Naankuse Desert Retreat

Situated on 35,000 hectares of unspoilt nature, guests at Kanaan Naansuke Desert Retreat will be able to bask in the beauty of sand dunes that stretch for miles and admire the breath taking views of mountain vistas. The focus of the desert retreat property is to rehabilitate the land, making it a conservation area to protect the wildlife and natural environment. The property borders the Namib Naukluft Park and with captivating scenery from every angle, it is a nature lover’s paradise and a photographer’s dream. Guests will get to choose between a luxury tent or a camp site depending on their desired experience. The luxury canvas tents each have En-suites and offer guests stunning views of a watering hole where animals can be seen roaming around. Sunrise or sunset dune drives will get guests even more up close and personal to the land at Kanaan.

Sonop

Sonop is a luxurious tented camp nestled atop the granite boulders at the very South of the Namib desert. This unique safari lodge offers an idyllic retreat in an authentic 1920s-style setting where guests can get into the mindset of classic explorers. Surrounded by the stunning panoramic desert landscape, the 10 tented suites are generously spaced apart from their position on top of the boulders. Each tent offers incredible views of the vast sands and is richly decorated with antiques, colourful carpets and polished wood. The lodge also includes modern twists such as the spacious swimming pool, open-air cinema and luxury treatments at the lodge’s spa. Enjoy amazing experiences such as horse rides across the desert, scenic drives and breathtaking stargazing away from the light pollution of the city.

Davison’s Camp

Nestled discreetly beneath a grove of false mopane trees, Davison’s is located in the private Linkwasha Concession – one of the most prolific wildlife areas in Hwange National Park. Hidden within a treeline, this African safari camp, overlooks an open plain and a waterhole that attracts large numbers of animals, especially thirsty herds of elephant and buffalo in the dry season. Guests staying in one of Davison’s nine tents (including a family room) can enjoy the quintessential Hwange experience, viewing the wildlife on game drives and guided nature walks in this diverse and exciting area. Arranged directly in camp only, and subject to vehicle availability, it may be possible to include a visit to one of the local villages. Subject to availability, guests may have the opportunity to visit and learn more about the Scorpion Anti-Poaching Unit team.

Khulu Bush Camp

Situated within a 6,000-acre private concession, Khulu Bush Camp “Grandfather” features a spectacular variety of thatched suites, comprising seven standard suites and two honeymoon variations, all fully furnished with en-suite facilities, a generous variety of amenities and jaw dropping views from elevated decks. Each well-appointed room is designed in a modern and contemporary style but has minimal impact to the surroundings and environment. Wildlife sightings are incredible in Hwange National Park, with regular sightings of elephant, lion, giraffe and many other safari staple creatures, including over 400 exotic bird species waiting for you to discover. Scout the open plains in open 4×4 safari vehicles or embark on foot for an authentic grassroots adventure of a lifetime. Enjoy delectable cuisine throughout day and sit around the campfire by night, reciting stories and reminiscing on an exciting days’ safari adventure, nightcap in hand.

The Hide

The Hide is situated within Hwange National Park, and enjoys regular wildlife traffic. The lodge backs onto a shady and peaceful acacia woodland and overlooks a permanent waterhole where elephants frequently visit to drink and play in the cool water. Giraffes and buffalo are also common visitors to the camp, and guests can watch them wander along the horizon from the comfort of the refreshing swimming pool. The Hide’s location means that guests can constantly enjoy Zimbabwe’s incredible wildlife, and have an authentic safari experience in the heart of the African bush. Guests can choose to stay either in one of the 10 tented bedrooms, complete with en-suite bathrooms and either twin or double bed configurations, or in the larger suites which are ideal for families and groups travelling together. Guests can also choose to spend a night in the Dove’s Nest, a private and remote treehouse that overlooks a water pan frequented by giraffes, where couples can retreat for some time alone together with exclusive wildlife views.

Somalisa Acacia Camp

Nestled amongst Acacia trees in the vast Hwange National Park lies Somalisa Acacia Camp. Authentic and traditional, this safari camp is private and exclusive, when full, only accommodating 12 guests. The suites are luxurious and comfortable with unique wooden and brick features running throughout, and a wood burner fireplace which guests can snuggle around on a cold night. A large sparkling swimming pool sits in front of the main area of camp overlooking the watering hole, so guests can relax in the pool keeping an eye on wandering elephants and thirsty animals. A unique boma fire pit sits next to the pool, so after a long day exploring the national park and dining on fresh and local food, guests can gather here and sit under the wide starry sky and immerse themselves in the sights, smells and sounds of Hwange.

Deka Camp

Deka Camp is an exclusive safari camp situated in the far northwest of Hwange National Park, resting on top of the low foothills which offer spectacular vistas as far as the eye can see. Arguably the most remote camp in the region, the chances of running into other guests is slim as you explore the wilderness in search of meandering plains game, with the likes of elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, giraffe, wildebeest, impala and even gemsbok readily awaiting adventurous eyes. The private concession allows for around the clock game drives, ushering new experiences after dark. The small camp consists of eight units, made of thatch, local rock and canvas. Ideal for taking the whole camp for groups, facilitating intimate adventures away from the crowds. The style of the camp is local rock and canvas walls with thatch roofs, featuring hot and cold running water, flush toilets, comfortable beds with first class linen and extensive patio views. The camp is designed to blend with the environment and the style compliments this.

Busanga Bush Camp

Busanga Bush Camp lies in the heart of the Busanga Plains in Kafue National Park. Surrounded by vast wilds and endless horizons the camp is intimate and exclusive, with an authentic and traditional safari atmosphere. With only 4 tents the camp offers a unique and private safari experience for guests. The tents are comfortable, with cosy beds lying opposite doors which open on to the verandah and offer views over the rolling plains – which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your bed. Dinner and drinks are served in the main dining area or can be enjoyed outside around the boma and under the wide sky. Exploration of the surroundings and diverse wildlife is offered in day and night game drives, boat rides over the flood waters and hot air balloon rides, giving guests the unique opportunity to enjoy the Busanga Plains from all angles and create memories which will last a lifetime.

Busanga Plains Camp

Busanga Plains Camp is located in the northern wilds of Kafue National Park, which showcases some of Zambias best landscapes and wildlife. Due to its very location the camp is intimate and private with only four luxury safari tents. These are comfortable and authentic, with large netted windows filling the space with natural light and bringing the outside nature in. Cosy beds are complimented by authentic rugs and safari lanterns, and the outdoor ensuite bathroom comes complete with a unique and traditional safari bucket shower. The main area of the camp includes a refreshing swimming pool, the dining area and bar, and a comfortable fire pit area as well as a viewing deck – from all of these areas, guests can relax and immerse themselves in the sights, smells and sounds of the wild Busanga Plains.
